I am a practising lawyer with more than 16 years experience in handling all types of disputes. I have seen it all. I am a trained mediator with experience in handling all types of disputes, big and small. I teach mediation and alternate dispute resolution processes at local Colleges. Mediation is by far the best means to solve most disputes. Court and litigation should always be the last option. Once litigation starts, the lawyers take over and you lose control. I think outside the box.

Disputes happen, however , it is not what happens to you, but what you do with what happens to you, which makes all the difference. Litigation is costly financially, emotionally and psychologically. Courts are based on the adversarial system and in my experience, parties soon discover that the court process itself sometimes escalates conflict. Choosing the mediation process can be an opportunity to reach a satisfactory resolution, reducing costs, hostility and a greater adherence to agreements.

As a Mediator, I am an impartial, third party who works closely with both sides to guide you through probably the worst time of your life. I do not make any decisions on your behalf; you make all the decisions yourselves. Mediation is far more humane and leaves you with your dignity and assets intact and the results can be made legally binding.

I find it incredible that Family Law allows for family members to be set angrily against each other in court where neither side will win in the end!
