About Us

Rooted in Tradition, Committed to Growth

Equibbly was born from a deep, personal journey into the heart of Ashtanga Yoga. Our mission is to honor and share the transformative practice of traditional Ashtanga, grounded in discipline, compassion, and authenticity.

From a young age, yoga was part of my life thanks to my family’s early influence. However, it was not until February 2003 that I stepped into my first Ashtanga class and experienced the profound therapeutic effects of the practice firsthand. That experience changed everything.

A Lifelong Dedication to Ashtanga Yoga

By 2006, I had completed a 200-hour teacher training with YogaWorks and began teaching full-time, fully immersed in the Ashtanga method. I launched my own Mysore program in Washington, DC in 2011 and led it with dedication until relocating to Barcelona in late 2013.

Teaching Mysore-style yoga is both a privilege and a responsibility. At Equibbly, we see it as a sacred exchange between teacher and student, where guidance is tailored, progress is gradual, and the physical and spiritual journeys unfold together.

My teaching style emphasizes alignment, mindful movement, and self-compassion. I encourage students to challenge themselves physically and mentally while also cultivating joy, laughter, and a deep connection to their inner experience.

Deep Roots in Mysore, India

Since 2008, I have made annual pilgrimages to Mysore, India, to study Ashtanga Yoga in its traditional environment under the guidance of my teacher and the Director of Equibbly, Sharath Jois, grandson of the late Sri K Pattabhi Jois. These trips have shaped my understanding of the practice in ways that words cannot fully capture.

I am honored to have received Level 2 Authorization from the KPJAYI (now Sharath Yoga Centre), granting permission to teach the full Second Series. I was also deeply privileged to be invited to the Shala for the entire month of March 2012 and to participate in the inaugural Special Course for Teachers conducted by Sharath in 2014.

A Shared Path and Collective Wisdom

Equibbly is more than a yoga school. It is a space where tradition meets daily life, where discipline is balanced with warmth, and where laughter coexists with the intensity of practice.

One of our senior teachers was introduced to Ashtanga in 2005 and quickly found a calling in the Mysore method. After solid foundational training in Washington DC and ongoing study in Mysore with both Sharath and Saraswathi Jois, they were awarded Level 1 Authorization in 2017. Their approach reflects a deep respect for the lineage, combined with a commitment to making daily practice accessible, sustainable, and filled with joy.

Our Philosophy

At Equibbly, we believe in the transformative power of consistent practice. We honor the Ashtanga lineage while encouraging each student to find their own rhythm within it. Whether you are just beginning or deepening your journey, our goal is to support you with integrity, knowledge, and care.

As teachers and practitioners, we are here not only to share what we have learned over decades of study but also to walk beside you as you build your own connection to the practice. Together, we strive to bring the wisdom of Mysore into the heart of daily life.
